Kansas City is not one of the most famous US cities, but this does not make it any less beautiful.
Kansas City is in the State of Missouri and has a population of about 450,000. The city was founded by fur traders in 1820 and is still an important commercial centre. The cityscape is dominated by high-rise buildings. The city has few historic buildings.
Kansas City has a great deal to offer culture-lovers. It has a number of important museums, including the Kansas City Regional Historical Museum, which has a magnificent collection of Native American art. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is certainly also worth a visit. There are also a large number of theatres, a philharmonic orchestra and a number of well-known libraries.
